ENGIE – who now own Condate Biogas – proudly announces its continued sponsorship of local community group, South Molton in Bloom.

ENGIE acquired Condate Biogas in September 2023, and are keen to continue the support of local initiatives such as South Molton in Bloom. Since its inception in 2021, South Molton in Bloom has achieved significant success, including winning the prestigious RHS Gold Award twice and winning the coveted Ayre Cup in the South West in Bloom competition. The club’s efforts have transformed South Molton into a vibrant and flourishing community with beautiful flower displays.

Sue Harrison, founder of South Molton in Bloom, expressed the importance of sponsorship for their ongoing work:

“Community support is vital for us to keep growing and thriving. Generous contributions like the one from ENGIE enable us to expand our flower beds around the town, keeping South Molton blooming with colour and the continued support is helping us plan for next year and beyond.”

“We believe it’s local businesses supporting the local community that make South Molton such a special place to live and visit and we are absolutely over the moon that ENGIE the new owners are engaged with local companies and are continuing the sponsorship.”

ENGIE, an anaerobic digestion facility located on the outskirts of South Molton, has been powering the town with renewable energy since 2016. It currently provides enough renewable gas to meet the needs of every home and supplies 40% of the town’s electricity.

With a strong focus on supporting the local community, ENGIE  has confirmed an additional donation of £2,000 to support South Molton in Bloom, enabling the community group to continue its outstanding work and strive for future achievements.

Darren Stockley, Operations Managing Director, commented: “We share very similar values with South Molton in Bloom – environmentally conscious and focused on the well-being of the residents of the town – so we are delighted to continue supporting the brilliant work they do.”
